A Prayer for Judah Daniel

The friend of a friend is ending his battle with cancer tonight. Not because he has gone into remission, but because he is near the end. You might not know him, I don’t either. But it doesn’t mean I won’t include him, his family, or my friend in my prayers this Shabbat.

I’m actually not certain the Me Sheberach is most appropriate. I learned somewhere along the way, that it is wrong to pray for life to sustain when it is that person’s time to go. That it is most appropriate to allow them death.

Pray that he passes into death gracefully and that his family… I don’t even know. That they grieve how they need to grieve.
