I think that means “Have a sweet and prosperous new year.” You’d think I could remember, I got the break down last night from Ronnie–but I don’t. He came by to pick up one of the challah from last night–I gave him the second nicest one. I’m taking the really nice one to dinner tonight and then the other–I’m not sure. I might take it to the dinner I’m going to tomorrow, but I might give it to someone else. I’m not too worried about it.

The cresent shaped burn on my stomach doesn’t hurt too much today. I lost my balance (or the bread lost its balance) and I caught it (the edge of the pan) on my stomach. Ouch. So there is a new lovely burn, just above the waist of my jeans.

Today is erev Rosh Hashanah! The Jewish New Year. I’m making a few new year’s committments to myself and started last night when I was at Dominicks.

1. Remember that membership to Weight Watchers? USE IT.

2. Remember that membership to the gym? Use it.

3. Keep up my hebrew studies.

4. Plan a trip to Israel.

5. Get up earlier.

6. Write morning pages.

7. Write and query articles.

8. Pick a BIG Project and work on it. (Remember that thing about the accidental saint in Assisi? That was good.)

9. Get out there and date more. Sigh. Okay.

10. Keep a cleaner house.

How’s that for starting off the year? Doable, I think. Okay, it is time for me to get cleaned up for dinner. I have to be in Evanston in two hours and considering how fucked up the trains have been today, I think I’ll need all the time in the world to get there.
