Oh, John Michael….

Today I got a surprise comment here–from John Michael. He defended himself against my “only the boys get to play sports at the reunion” tirade. Well, you can all read the comment yourself. Then I wrote him back and we went back and forth a bit today on email.

I think he took it all in good humor.

Turns out that once upon a time, I made him a tape. The power of making a tape for someone, evidence that I had a mighty crush on him at some point. That “some point” was most of elementary school and junior high. I do wish the Friday night thing had been quieter, then we’d have chatted more. As it was, I felt old and took off.

Maybe I’ll stick around to chat at the 20th for longer.
