Victoria and Albert Museum

Wow.

Wow.

This was one of Avery’s recommendations, a must see in London, and I have to say that it is indeed. The V&A contains clothes, furniture, ironwork, 6 HUGE Cartoons by Rapheal (Cartoon being a drawing on paper, used as a blueprint for a weaving, not a sunday comic), sculptures, artifacts collected from asia and india. All over there are portable stools that you can take with you as you tour the museum. Art students take advantage of the stools and were sitting in front of different sculptures and exhibitions, sketching away. The youngest was a fashion designer of 6 and the oldest I saw was a man in his 60s.

I wandered through a few wings and then hit the gift store. I will definitely be back, especially since I was headed to the Museum of Natural History and got sidetracked by the V&A. Also, on the way there I found an Argentinean restaurant (hooray!) and this is all within WALKING distance of the res hall.
