Akira sent me an alert about a Call For Submissions. Two women are compiling essays on converting to Judaism for a book called What Ruth Possessed. If’n you also converted, you have 4000 words and a little less than a week to get your story in.
I found that I gave myself permission to condense my memoir down to 4,000 words for the project and to let go of publishing Accidentally Jewish as a stand alone book. I have plenty of books in me and learned what I needed to by writing AJ. And I learned something by condensing one year into 4000 words. Highlights might be enough, everyone doesn’t need to know about every step of the conversion process. If they do, they are welcome to my archives, because it is all here.
