Fresh baked morning.

After two weeks with no challah (remember the 1/2 pound short of flour debacle last week?), this morning I’m sitting here smelling baking bread. Not just any challah, but my practice challah for Rosh Hoshanah. I tried braiding it into a circle, but I was impatient and did that before the second rise. Of course it didn’t keep the shape. So I punched it down and decided to do the lazy circle braid. I pulled off balls of dough, rolled in olive oil and place in the pizza pan in a circle. This morning it looked like I’d braided it. Mental note–much easier than braiding dough.

I’m going to take it to work today, since I have no major plans to see anyone that I can give it to. I also MUST write my essay today. The topic is being covered at selichot on Saturday, so I should be done by then. Plus I don’t want it hanging over my head during the high holidays.
