Hallelujah

I googled a quote today and found out it was a quote about Jeff Buckley. Then I was listening to music from when I lived in London and I wondered about that “Hallelujah” song that was so popular that Christmas along with The Darkness. And…. you aren’t surprised at all that it was Jeff Buckley, are you? I bought it off of iTunes. Hooray! I’m off to a movie and then to services with friends.

My favorite line is when he sings about the chords he is playing.

Well I heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don’t really care for music, do ya? Well it goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah

UPDATE: Leonard Cohen wrote it, Buckley made it popular. Thanks Dubi & Adam for setting me straight. Here’s an LC version for you. (I prefer the JB version, but it is what I heard first. Like that Indigo Cover of Romeo and Juliet.) Oh wait, here’s another LC version. This one I like a bit more.

Fine. And here’s Rufus Wainwright in Ireland… I like it too. Oh hell, I just like the song .
