I just wanted dinner.

I just got off the phone with Ronnie. Ronnie is one of my favorite people and my regular date for chicken pot pie. He was included in my mass email this morning in search of a new roommate. I called him to ask him to meet me for dinner, but he’d already eaten. The conversation went something like this.

“How’s the roommate search going?”

“It’s only day one.”

“Oh. Why are you renting? Are you saving up for a down payment? Why don’t you buy instead?”

“Um, cause I hadn’t thought of that in awhile.”

“If you have the stability to pay rent, you have the stability to buy. Quit throwing your money away and meet with a broker.”

“Oh. That was my original plan for the year, I just forgot it along the way.”

“You asked for advice, this is my advice.”
