Well, there you have it, I was selected to be one of the Edelman team members for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in Atlanta. I have a pretty intense training schedule over the next ten weeks, so if you need me, I’ll be walking.
Tonight Amy met me at Fleet Feet in Piper’s Alley to buy shoes and then she made me buy a new outfit… cause apparently I shouldn’t train in my work clothes. We left, I in my brand new outfit, at 7PM and arrived at the Wilson stop of the Red Line a little past 8PM. That included a water stop and obeying all traffic signals.
Oh. That’s also four miles. Four miles in just over an hour. Pretty rad. It was like a 16 minute mile. Gotta tell you, Coach Guth walked me hard, but it was good.
I’ll be walking about 8 hours a week for the next ten weeks and seriously ramping up at the end. So… if you need me, you’ll probably have to walk with me. This makes me think it’s also a good time to be single, cause what guy wants to go on a 10-mile walk and call it a date? (But, you know, if you know that guy, you can introduce him to me and my new shoes.)
UPDATE: I now have my participant page where you can make a donation.
