Israel Postcards: Jewish Diversity

I feel like I’ve said a million times that if it weren’t for my blog, my Jewish life wouldn’t be very diverse. It would be very much centered around two Chicago Jewish communities–my reform synagogue and the federation. Nothing wrong with that, but I’m lucky that my blog gives me a diverse Jewish life.

How did it play out in Israel this time?

I spent a shabbat with CK from Jewlicious. Yep, I turned everything off before we lit shabbat candles and didn’t turn anything back on until we lit the Havdalah candle. Don’t tell anyone, but keeping shabbat was lovely. We ate, napped, read, ate, napped, read, ate and ate and ate.

Shabbat dinner was with a Reb Chayim. I’m still struggling to find him on Facebook, but when I do I’ll link to him.
