West Side Story was written by a Jew? The music to the Wizard of Oz was written by a Jew? God Bless America was written by a Jew? Does the Religious Right know that?
Probably. I suppose I did too, as some level. Yes that Berstein wrote West Side Story and that Berlin wrote God Bless America. But I had no idea it was a jew that wrote the music of the Wizard of Oz. All I could think as I listened to the program last night was, “This means something different now.”
