My condo wishlist

Here is my wishlist for the condo I am buying. Remember, I will move into my very own CONDO on May 1. I haven’t started looking yet, but am confident this will happen.

Must Haves 1 bedroom, 1 bath above the 1st floor (lived in a garden and was robbed, want safety of being above “climbing in window” level.) rehabbed conversion (like I said, I don’t like new constructions.) 2-5 year old appliances low assessments and cap on special assessments a porch/balcony/outside space less than 1/2 mile to el stop. allows cats gas range in kitchen a kitchen I can actually cook in–counter space and cabinet space great water pressure and hot water a toilet that actually flushes new windows that are well sealed for winter months good security (buzzer, locking gates, etc.) more vintage than modern feel architecturally interesting ceiling fans room for art on walls (I have a lot of art and don’t want a place without a good amount of clear wall where I can hang it.) sunny! Maybe south facing or on an alley where my windows don’t butt against another building. cell phone reception some sort of green space common laundry if no laundry hook-ups.

Wants, but not Must-haves 2 bedroom laundry in unit hardwood or tile floors (I don’t like carpet, too messy) brand new appliances central air on the Brown Line Pantry wired for cable/Internet built in bookshelves. Steam heat. To be allowed to hang a mezuzah on the doorpost outside of unit.

Don’t Need, don’t care Parking working Fireplace Gym

Don’t want New construction Garden or low First floor
