New shoes, new shoes.

I sit stretching on the gym floor and look at the logo on my sneakers. Brooks. They’ve been good to me, as I strayed from Saucony’s a few weeks ago. I wonder, “When will Fleet Feet get my Saucony’s in?” Oh well, these will be fine, I’m sure.

Then I go to the locker room and pull out my cell phone, two new messages. Shit. That can’t be good. Not with an Aunt in the hospital for a triple bypass today. Shit. Shit. Shit.

I check the messages, one is an old message I hung up on a few days ago and the second is from, drumroll please, Fleet Feet. My sneakers are in. Woo Hoo!

I can’t believe I woo hooed over a pair of sneakers, but now I’ll have two pair in decent shape and I can rotate which pair I wear to work and to the gym. That way the shoes have a day to expand and will be better for my back in the long run.
