Shabbat Shalom

Tonight was my first shabbat since my Jew debut and it was wonderful! A friend who belongs to another shul came with me and another who I met there a year ago is coming back more often. I love that I now know enough that I can make newbies comfortable at service. The coolest moment was during a song, my rabbi came up behind me (I was in the last row) and whispered that there was a woman there who is considering becoming a jew and would I be sure to introduce myself to her.

Very cool moment. She’s also single and nearing 30 and it was really great to finally be a full member of our community and be able to offer a hand to someone new. And to be asked to offer a hand to someone new.

After the dinner, my little chevurah came over for a glass of non-kosher wine and some yummy goat cheese. Now I’m on my way to IO to see my ol’ roomie do some improv.
