Shop, my sister, and a waffle with Kim.

Tuesday I spent the day at the shop with my sister. She decided late on Monday to come up with Bob, he had an assignment in Itaska, and take the train into the city to hang out with me. It was fun for her to see the shop and understand why I enjoy working there so much–at least I think she got the idea. We spent part of the afternoon putting together a top secret basket, that was very cool. She is finishing up a very successful year as a 1L at U of I law and is going to have her assistantship in Decatur with one of the top firms and the top female lawyer in the city. Very exciting for her.

Then we got her back on the el for another trip on the Metra. In the morning, she was very surprised to travel for two hours from Joliet up to my stop of the el. Her afternoon trip didn’t take nearly as long, as she just went out to Itaska.

After work I watched a little Gilmore Girls. Jessie was back in town for the weekend. Aargh! One of the best shows on TV and I am so out of sync with it. Grrrr. Gilmore Girls and Alias. Not to mention Friends. I’ll be back in time for the final episode, having missed the entire season.

Then I hopped on the el myself and went to the Armitage Writing Studio to meet Kim Clark, my writing teacher. We went to Mitchells for coffee and ice cream and a waffle. I wasn’t going to get anything, but then I smelled that waffle and had to have one. It was great to see Kim for coffee and catch up. I am looking forward to being back in Chicago and start writing with Kim again.
