Thank God Its Friday!: The Music of Shabbat

Thank God It’s Friday!: The Music of Shabbat

Date: 18 November, 1997 — $6.98 — Music

Rating:

I’m trying to learn the prayers and on my last trip to Borders I picked this up. Yes, I know, I said I wasn’t looking for anymore jewish BOOKS that day. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t looking for Jewish Music. HA!

This was only $5.99 and had a good amount of prayers for Shabbat on it. I went to sleep listening to it last night and so far am really enjoying it. Some of the prayers I recognize and some I don’t. But it is great to hear the prayers and the hebrew words sung by professional musicians and cantors. I think it will help me as I become familiar with my temple’s Erev Shabbat services and with Judaism.

(Oh. And to me there is something very comical about the cover art of this CD.)
