Trapped with Santa.

Every year, without fail, I get trapped with Santa Claus. Fine, fine, it is just this year and last year. And it isn’t so much trapped as I manage to catch the Santa Express–the holiday train for the CTA. Why even say holiday train, it is the Christmas Train.

Last year I caught it maybe a week after I converted and tonight, after wrapping up my Christmas shopping, this was the train I caught. The only annoying thing about it this year was that we sat for 5 minutes at Chicago. Those rock n roll Christmas Carols are nerveracking. I tried putting my iPod deep into my ear canals, but felt like a Grinch.

Not as much a Grinch as the guy on the platform flipping us off as we passed Armitage.

I found this on Flickr, so I don’t even have to upload the photo from my phone. Just imagine.

You are Jewish. You’ve just finished your Christmas shopping. You are anxious to get home and this is your only option home. Candy canes and Christmas Carols. And CTA employees dressed like elves.
